UPDATE 11/14/14 Patrick Obumselu Needs Us in the Fight Against Ebola—NOW

Pastor Patrick Obumselu, Vineyard Lagos in Nigeria

Pastor Patrick Obumselu, Vineyard Lagos in Nigeria

Patrick Obumselu is the 50-year old pastor of a Vineyard church in Lagos, Nigeria and also head over all Vineyard churches in both Nigeria and Sierra Leone, where two Vineyard churches are working non-stop to help those afflicted with the Ebola virus.

The situation in Sierra Leon is so desperate that most people are not even allowed to leave their homes, being severely quarantined in a government effort to stop the spread of the virus.  There are today as many people dying from starvation, malaria and other diseases as are dying from Ebola due to this quarantine, something the West is little aware of. People are not even allowed to leave their homes to visit farms outside of Freetown, the capital, in order to obtain food to eat. When people die in their homes, even the corpses are not allowed to be removed!

Patrick is the Vineyard contact man to obtain food and personal sanitation supplies for not only the Sierra Leone Vineyard church members, but for others as well. He has had to put his full-time job as a land surveyor on hold due to the desperate needs of the churches in Sierra Leone. He is in contact daily with the leaders on the ground, having walked with them for twelve years. He shared with us that their organization, Vision West Africa, which was dedicated to wiping out illiteracy in that nation, has had to channel all of their funds just to buy food to keep people from literally starving to death.

According to Patrick, the greatest needs are:

  • Food and lots of it
  • Sanitary products:  sanitary napkins, diapers, and other personal hygiene products
  • Baby formula and food. Many babies have had both parents die from Ebola and are in desperate need

Patrick’s final plea was for everyone to pray for them, their survival, and removal of any roadblocks to keep containers from arriving by Christmas.  Please do all you can to fill multiple containers and get it there before more die not only from Ebola, but also from other diseases and starvation.

How to Donate

We need your help to fill an entire shipping container and send it to Sierra Leone by Christmas. 100% of all proceeds will be used to purchase food, sanitary products, medical supplies, and shipping costs. Click here to donate online, or mail your contributions to:
